Modernist Silver Amethyst Ring by Danish Designer Arne Johansen

A smooth and elegant modernist silver amethyst ring by highly respected Danish designer Arne Johansen. Consisting of an irregular shaped cabochon amethyst incased in a handmade fitted rub-over setting.

Arne Johansen: (1927-2004) Danish goldsmith and designer. Served his apprenticeship with goldsmith Henry Andersen in Roskilde, where he was awarded the silver medal of the Craftsmen’s Guild, the highest award given to an apprentice. He was employed in Bredgade, Copenhagen before starting his own business in 1957, promoting Danish design around the world, and exporting his jewellery internationally.
